Sharing general aviation with family, friends and the next generation, photo credit wikiWings
It’s Thanksgiving week. We should give thanks each day but this is a special week before the end of the year. A time to stop and be still. A time to reflect.
Our founding fathers, took this time of year to acknowledge and confess with gladness the benefits and mercies which God had bestowed upon them. Let us not neglect reflection and the giving of thanks to God for His many good provisions.
I’m thankful for the many ordinary comforts God has provided and for extraordinary ones – like general aviation. The gift to ride modern chariots in God’s magnificent heavens. And, to share that experience with family, friends and the next generation.
Hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving (Ps 100:1-5; Ro 6:23).

It’s been coined the “Cirrus Life,” a journey of memorable moments and people carried along in personal stories about flying. It’s also a story about today’s general aviation transportation and how it’s transforming life among businesses, family and friends (#CirrusLife).
At Austin Executive airport, an almost spontaneous gathering of about ninety Cirrus enthusiasts occurred on October 8, 2016. I understand it was the idea of Ed McCombs who is a relatively new owner of a Cirrus SR22. He had enjoyed a gathering of Cirrus pilots at EAA Airventure in Oshgosh Wisconsin and wanted to create a similar dinner event locally. People arrived by car and plane.
In honor and recognition to the brave men and women who serve our country in the armed forces. We respect your courage, commitment and sacrifice in service to your country. Thank you for protecting us and our freedom. God bless America.

Memorable moments and a major life event – when aviators and non-aviators alike enjoy the beauty and freedom of general aviation flying across this great country.

On October 30, 2016 at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) meeting in Orlando Florida a major announcement was made by Cirrus Aircraft and its leaders who are known for innovation. It was this year that 4 words have again changed general aviation – “Cirrus Jet is certified.” It’s the world’s first single engine personal jet to meet FAA certification. This milestone is acclaimed as a new era in general aviation personal transportation.
Dale Klapmeier, Cirrus Aircraft co-founder, CEO and U.S. National Aviation Hall of Fame member said, “Just as the SR series of high-performance piston aircraft has forever changed aviation, the impact of the Vision Jet on personal and regional transportation is going to be even more profound. Never before has a turbine aircraft solution come along that rewrites the rules in so many ways – iconic design, ease of operation, smart economics, simplified ownership and more.”
A New Category by Design
“The Vision Jet defines the new single-engine Personal Jet category by its spacious, pilot and passenger-friendly cabin with expansive windows, reclining seats and comfortable legroom that can accommodate up to five adults and two children. The cabin is complemented by the proprietary Cirrus Perspective® Touch™ by Garmin® flight deck, which delivers a wide array of highly sophisticated, easy-to-use global navigation capabilities and safety features to the pilot at the touch of a finger. Powering the Flight-Into-Known-Ice (FIKI) approved Vision Jet is a single, smart FADEC-controlled Williams International FJ33-5A turbofan engine.” Continue reading “This year 4 words changed general aviation”→
