The SR22-G3 Generation Three debuted in the spring of 2007. The plane’s appearance on the ramp was visibly different. It stood taller. And, according to Cirrus, there are more than 700-plus design changes to the Generation Three airframe and systems inside.
Robert Goyer, editor of Flying Magazine, has flown hundreds of hours in Cirrus G1 and G2 aircraft but he says, “In terms of handling . . . they never felt great until [the G3]. The new G3 handles beautifully.” “The G3 simply flies better than the G2.” Continue reading “Introduction Cirrus SR22 Generation Three (G3)”
Almost every Saturday in West Houston, pilots gather to talk about flying over coffee and breakfast. By noon the group launches on a local flight and then land at a nearby restaurant of choice for lunch. During a recent weekend more than a dozen aviators got together. We enjoy the fellowship and food.
The last few outings included Torchy’s Tacos in Houston and Irie’s Island Food on Mustang Beach.
You’re welcome to join us if you’re in the West Houston area.

This year, Textron confirmed production termination of the Cessna TTx turbo. The stoppage occurred after a decade long run up attempt. The normally aspirated Cessna 350 ceased production in 2013.
The dominate competitor, Cirrus Aircraft out sold Cessna’s shipments of the Columbia designed high performance composite by 12 to 1. Continue reading “How many Cessna 400, Corvalis, Cessna TTx airplanes shipped?”
