Turbo Perspective SR22-G3 That was Then, This is Now

Its been a decade since the Turbo Perspective SR22-G3 third generation planes began shipment. Let’s look at how the market has changed.

We’ve summarized original factory pricing for the Cirrus SR22-G3 Turbo planes in the table below. Third Generation SR22 planes began shipment in the spring of 2007 with Avidyne PFD and MFD displays. The perspective flight deck was not available until the spring of 2008.

In November 2014, we looked at pre-owned asking prices for Turbo Cirrus with Perspective by Garmin flight decks. There were a baker’s dozen of the Tornado Alley Turbo-Normalized Cirrus Perspective SR22TN’s for sale in the United States (model years 2008 – 2010). The majority of planes were GTSx models (10/13), most had air-conditioning (8/13), and all had the yaw damper option except one (12/13). You could expect a pre-owned asking price of $419,000 for a low-time 2008 Perspective SR22TN GTS aircraft with air-conditioning.  See the complete November 2014 article “How much does a Turbo Cirrus Perspective SR22TN-G3 cost?

2010 was the first year Cirrus offered the all factory Continental turbocharged model, and by year-end it became the standard instead of the Tornado Alley Turbo-Normalized. The Cirrus SR22T sports a Teledyne Continental all factory turbocharged engine TSIO-550-K rated to produce 315 hp which is 5 hp more than the Tornado Alley Turbo-Normalized SR22TN.

In November 2014, about twenty SR22T Continental “turbocharged” aircraft were listed on Controller for sale in the United States. At that time, you could expect an asking price around $549,900 for a low-time SR22T-G3 GTS with air-conditioning. See the complete November 2014 article “How much does a Turbo Cirrus SR22T-G3 cost?

In June and July of 2018, we collected pre-owned asking prices for Cirrus Perspective SR22-G3 Turbo airplanes. We found 24 planes on the market. Most of the planes had air-conditioning 18 of 24. Only 21 were based for sale in the United States. Asking prices ranged from a low of $330,000 to a high of $499,000.  For planes with about 1,000 – 1,400 Total Time on Airframe (TTAF) you could expect an asking price within range of $407,000.

But “that was then and this is now.”
